PRO Tools for DIY Design
Aug 03, 2021
As entrepreneurs, we often wear many hats. We are CEO, CFO, CMO, and sometimes Graphic Designer.
Personally, I love getting to use my creative side to generate content for my website, social media, and email marketing. I am not an expert by ANY means, but I do enjoy the occasional DIY graphic design moment.
I know the basics to Photoshop and InDesign, but when it comes down to it...I love using simpler design tools to get the job done. In case you are like me and enjoy generating content via DIY design, I’ve put together a list of tools that I find extremely useful.
- Canva - My EVERYTHING. I would be lost without it. With hundreds of templates to choose from, the sky's the limit in terms of designing killer content for your website or social media. With the paid plan, you also have the option to upload your own fonts and save your specific brand colors for easier design.
- Unsplash.com - This site is an incredible resource! If you are looking for a free stock image, Unsplash is the place to visit. There are other sites out there that offer free images, but I find Unsplash to be my personal favorite and the most user friendly.
- Envato - My go-to resource for all things video and audio. They have THOUSANDS of premium, royalty free audio tracks for use in your projects AND offer countless designer-made video templates.
- Pixlr - When I need to resize an image or create a more intense design project, I turn to Pixlr. It is basically a free version of photoshop and is slightly more user friendly.
- PicMonkey - I have been using this site for a long time… I don’t want to date myself, but probably for a decade. It’s expanded over the years and now offers thousands of customizable themes. Personally, I LOVE using PicMonkey to create my annual vision board!
