5 Things I’m Thankful For This Year
Nov 22, 2022
Wow. What a year!
From having a baby, to hiring two new full-time employees, to launching my first course, to buying a new home for my family…it’s been a busy one.
This year, I have more to be thankful for than ever before.
And thank YOU for joining me on the journey.
Now, I could gush for pages, but I’ll keep this short...
1. Theater has been back for a full year.
Back in September of last year, Broadway opened its doors again and the audiences and performers that make up this great industry came back! While it’s still not at the capacity it was pre-pandemic, we’re seeing seats fill more and more as time goes on.
2. Business is booming because of my team.
I told myself before I had my second son in March that if I could keep sales close to what they were last year I’d consider it a win. (Being a working mom is hard y’all!) And I’ve surpassed that goal and then some. I owe a lot of our success this year to my team who have helped me when I’ve been too sleep-deprived to show up as my best self, they’ve stepped in when I needed them, so THANK YOU. If you’re in over your head, surround yourself with smart, talented, hard-working people. It pays off.
3. I’ve spent more time with my family.
While having THREE thriving businesses is a huge goal and passion of mine, my family comes first. And this year has shown me the joys of working from home. I am so thankful to be able to pop downstairs and give my baby a snuggle whenever I want or do an art project with my toddler if I need a mental break. It brings me so much joy. These are the moments we’ll remember when we’re older, not the emails we send.
4. I found my dream home.
Because my businesses are doing so well, I’ve been able to take the big leap and buy my dream home. It’s the proudest I’ve ever felt being able to raise my children in a space and place that brings us so much happiness. If your space leaves something to be desired, try sprucing it up a bit in the New Year. You may be surprised by how much more productive you are when you love where you work (and live).
5. I’ve failed more than once.
This year hasn’t been all woo-woo happy vibes. It’s been hard at times and I’ve made some mistakes I’ve learned from. Failure is a hard lesson, but because of a few fails this year, I am 100% crystal clear on my vision for the future. And that’s worth its weight in gold.
How have you succeeded this year? How have you failed? What are you thankful for?
We should all count our blessings each day, not only because it makes us feel good, but it’s also a habit that is scientifically proven to make you perform at a higher level over time.
Thank YOU for being a part of my world. Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate!
